The island of Lanta was known long ago as "Pulau Satak", a name of Malayan origin meaning Long Beach Island. Today's name is most probably a corrupted form of the Javanese words Lantas that means a fish grill and that finally gave this is land "Koh Lanta" In 1917, the name changed to "Koh Lanta" and the two main island together with 51 smaller isle became a small province of Krabi, Thailand.

Lanta Sand Resort and Spa is located on the west coast
of the island Koh Lanta is part of Krabi Province, Surounded
by natural garden and beach from by Andaman Sea and is located
approx 62 km south of Krabi city.
Krabi
is an 80 minutes flight away from Bangkok. The transfer
from Krabi airport. The transfer by van (crossing by car-ferry)
takes approx 2 ? hrs. The second nearest airport is Trang
90 minutes by air from Bangkok . The transfer time from
Trang airport-Lanta Sand Resort and Spa by van taken approx
2 ? hrs. It takes approx 4 ? hrs to travel from Phuket to
airport to Lanta Sand Resort and Spa by van. Transfers
by van is in daytime and depending on weather condition. |
