Unseen Paradise
Participation in the "Unseen Paradise" marketing promotion, initiated by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, was not limited to five-star hotel and resort properties. The 50 properties featured include a range of hotel and resort properties and other types of accommodation that exude a certain charm. QUALIFYING CRITERIA
FOR HOTELS, RESORTS AND ACCOMMODATION FEATURED IN
UNSEEN PARADISE
To qualify for participation in "Unseen Paradise", launched by TAT jointly with Kasikornbank, individual properties were judged according to the following criteria.
Unique concept or distinctive design
Architectural splendour
Outstanding characteristics in terms of interior design or décor
Ambience
Exceptional service
Other distinguishing qualities that lend a distinct personality to the property
Located in a destination of natural charm and beauty
Beyond aesthetics, individual properties were also required to demonstrate their commitment to proper environmental management, undertaken in harmony with the natural surroundings. Other factors taken into consideration include respect for local culture, the property's contribution to, and involvement in, the development and well-being of the local community, particularly in the promotion and preservation of local traditions and way of life. Cleanliness and safety are also fundamental factors in the selection process.
All 50 properties in various destinations around Thailand were selected by a panel comprising representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, photographers from Thailand's leading magazines and members of the travel media.
"Unseen Paradise" is a sub-theme of the Unseen Thailand tourism promotion campaign to entice residents of Thailand to travel around the country and caters to the lifestyle needs and interests of residents of Bangkok and other urban centers throughout Thailand.
Each of the selected hotels have also contributed a participating fee of 100,000 Baht which goes towards the development of advertising, marketing and promotional materials.
